I always wanted to be a doctor when I grew up.I wanted to help people, and find cures, and save the world. As I got older, I realized it wasn’t the medicine aspect that I was drawn to, but the bigger picture of health care: I am fascinated by strengthening systems, reducing disparities, and overall improving the quality of care that patients receive. Don't get me wrong, though- I still plan on saving the world.
After working in health care for several years, I returned to school to get my Master's degree in Health Care Policy and Management and graduated in May 2020. My time in graduate school reinvigorated me and I hope to now direct my career towards increasing equity in health care and improving population health. |
